CONTRACT AWARD: Oracle/SQL DBA Support Services
CORMAC has been awarded a contract for the Oracle/SQL Server DBA Support Services in support of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The contract scope is to provide DBA services and innovation to ensure secure operational effectiveness and efficiency as well as availability of CMS Oracle and SQL Server databases.
CORMAC will support CMS with the following:
- Maintaining the Oracle/SQL Server database objects for Medicare and Medicaid system feeds
- Developing and testing Medicare and Medicaid systems requiring Oracle databases
- Maintaining database control standards for central database administrators
- Ensuring CMS database standards are followed by local database administrators as well as CMS database administrators and users
- Maintaining the quality of Oracle/SQL Server databases.
DBA is a major component of supporting the agency’s information systems and achieving effective, up-to-date health care coverage to promote quality care for beneficiaries.

CORMAC Advances to Stage One of CMS AI Health Outcomes Challenge
After reviewing more than 300 submitted proposals, CMS has selected CORMAC as one of the Top 25 participants to advance to Stage 1 of the CMS Artificial Intelligence (AI) Health Outcomes Challenge. The scope of the challenge asked teams to identify ways of using AI and deep learning to predict unplanned hospital visits within a 30-day window for Medicare beneficiaries, as well as find innovative approaches to explain results to front-line clinicians and patients. CONTRACT AWARD: Commercial Solutions Opening Pilot Program (CSOP) - Artificial Intelligence (AI) For Past Performance Prototypes & Pilots Acquisition
CORMAC has been awarded a contract by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The award is entitled Commercial Solutions Opening Pilot Program (CSOP) - Artificial Intelligence (AI) For Past Performance Prototypes & Pilots Acquisition. The purpose of this contract is to determine the extent to which AI can assist contracting officers in making more efficient and effective use of CPARS data by rapidly identifying relevant records to support past performance evaluations. The CPARS AI Proof of Concept and prototype will be a solution built on the CORMAC Envisioning and Prediction Enhancing System (CREPES), which leverages Machine Learning (ML), unsupervised Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), manifold learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The initial phase of this award is for a period of four months, which will be dedicated to building a prototype for DHS.

PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT: CREPES—CORMAC’s Latest SAAS Product Uses AI and NLP to simplify Past Performance Evaluation
Thanks to collaboration in our Innovation Lab, CORMAC proudly announces the launch of CORMAC Envisioning and Prediction Enhancing System (CREPES). It employs the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Data Visualization to provide a more efficient means of evaluating past performance. CREPES allows the federal acquisition workforce to reduce administrative burden by accurately and consistently assessing the relevancy of past performance records during the contract award process. CREPES may significantly assist contracting officers conducting past performance evaluations by identifying relevant past performance assessment records in a more accurate, consistent, rapid, and useful manner, reducing the administrative workload of contracting officers while increasing the quality of the outcome.

CONTRACT AWARD: Post-Acute Care (PAC) Quality Reporting Programs (QRP)
CORMAC has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Post-Acute Care (PAC) Quality Reporting Programs (QRP). CORMAC will be a sub-contractor for Swingtech Consulting for this effort.
The primary functions of this work include data analysis to support Annual Payment Update determinations, monitoring and evaluation activities, technical public reporting, and other data reporting requirements. Additionally, our team will provide programmatic technical support to stakeholders in relation to the Hospice, IRF, LTCH, SNF, and HHA QRPs’ policies and procedures, provider reports, programmatic technical assistance, and provider outreach & communications.
This contract will support numerous stakeholders, including CMS and other Federal partners, to help them achieve success in the reporting of standardized assessment data, quality measure data, resource use, and other quantifiable statistics.
We are excited to work with Swingtech and be a partner to CMS in this effort.

MIGRATE MEDICARE FEE-FOR-SERVICES (FFS) CLAIMS TO THE CLOUD
Columbia, MD – August 29, 2019 – CORMAC has been awarded a task by HHS/CMS to migrate Medicare claims that are currently in legacy mainframe systems to the AWS Cloud. At present, Medicare claims are collected and stored in an IBM mainframe as part of the National Claims History (NCH) system. Current NCH data residing on the mainframe includes data files from 1991 through the present. The Medicare claims in NCH are used by several downstream data repositories, systems, and users.
CORMAC will migrate this data to the AWS Cloud in order to leverage the modern platform’s lower cost, flexible storage, and computing capacity. This data migration project will use Agile and DevOps processes. The process and implementation approach can be reused in the modernization of other legacy systems.
We are excited to be a partner to CMS for this effort.

Columbia, MD – July 15, 2019 – CORMAC has been selected by the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) to receive the Chief Information Officer – Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) as part of the 8(a) Disadvantaged Small Business Group, giving our company the privilege to offer our innovative IT services and IT services-based solutions to a broader range of federal customers.
The CIO-SP3 Small Business contract is a multiple award, 10-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) used by federal government agencies to purchase information technology platforms and professional services. It has earned the “best-in-class” designation for comprehensive IT services as determined by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). CIO-SP3 Small Business demonstrates NITAAC’s commitment to supporting the small business community, while giving federal agencies access to small businesses who are able to create advanced and integrated IT solutions customized to meet government needs.

CMS awards a 5-year contract to CORMAC - to provide DBA Support for DB2 Databases across the agency as part of CMS’s Enterprise Data Administration efforts
Columbia, MD, March, 2019 –Earlier this week, CORMAC was awarded a 5-year contract for Enterprise Database Administration (DBA) Support at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Under this contract, CORMAC will provide DBA Support for DB2 databases across the agency. The contract supports the Office of Information Technology (OIT), which is charged with the management of information systems architecture, assets (hardware, software and resources), enterprise databases, and the access to data and operational systems. The current CMS DB2 database environment contains diverse sets of Medicare and Medicaid data for analytical and operational purposes, including but not limited to, utilization, beneficiary enrolment, beneficiary eligibility, provider profiles and provider credentials. The current DB2 environment includes 1150 databases comprised of more than 65,000 tables with a total size of 225 Terabytes.
This is the latest stage in a long partnership between CMS and CORMAC which was established back in 2002. Over the last 17 years, CORMAC has evolved to become recognized as a leading data management company in the CMS space. In executing this contract, CORMAC will draw on its deep understanding of CMS data and the extensive data management skills developed from the operation of data centric contracts such as IDR, NMUD, and NCH. CMS Re-awards a 4 year contract to CORMAC to provide maintenance and enhancements services for Medicare Exclusion Database (MED).
Columbia, MD, September 2018 –CORMAC is re-awarded the Medicare Exclusion Database (MED) Prime Contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency within Health and Human Services. MED is a repository of provider exclusions initiated by HHS’s Office of the Inspector general (OIG). MED alerts the stakeholders, primarily the Medicare contractors, to stop payments to excluded providers. MED plays a vital role in curtailing Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) and ensures excluded individuals and entities do not violate the terms of their exclusion.CORMAC is honored to be selected by CMS to continue to provide both maintenance and enhancements to the system for the next 4 years with the additional mission to modernize and migrate MED to the Cloud.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Awards a 4 year contract to CORMAC - to provide technical, database and analytical services for Compliance Program Information System (COMPLIS).
Columbia, MD, July 30, 2018 –HHA/FDA awarded a 4-year sole source contract to CORMAC to provide technical, database and analytical services for Compliance Program Information System (COMPLIS). CORMAC will provide support for the Office of Scientific Investigation (OSI) and the Office of Study Integrity and Surveillance (OSIS) in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). The contract includes tracking of pending assignments, untitled letters, complaints, inspectional outcome packages, enforcement actions, inspectional deficiencies, audit dates, good laboratory practice (GLP) and Bioequivalence (BE) data, and human subjects protection consults. It also provides quantitative data (inspections metrics) on inspections overseen by OSI & OSIS for all OSI and OSIS divisions, branches, and programs.

CMS presents “2017 CMS Honors Awards” under the “Operational Excellence” category to CORMAC for their work on building performance dashboards under Performance Management System (PMS) contract.
The following is the excerpt of the award:
CORMAC’s Team contributed substantially to the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) Performance Workgroup which created dashboards that were recognized during the “2017 CMS Honors Awards” with an “Operational Excellence Award.” This award recognizes individuals/teams for creativity, innovation, or best practices that lead to improvements in progress or program administration. It reads, “For an outstanding job on the requirements development and implementation of the MAC Performance Dashboards allowing CMS to enhance performance and oversight of procurement activities.”
CORMAC has been supporting CMS’s performance reporting group (PMG) for the last 7 years to perform Analytics and build Interactive dashboards and performance metric reports. CORMAC built 20+ MicroStrategy dashboards and 40+ reports on legislative mandates such as ACA, SSNRI and Medicare FFS performance. For ACA, CORMAC developed and deployed a dashboard to the White House – the Marketplace Management Information (MMI) Dashboard – which is one of CMS’ high-profile and priority projects related to the Marketplace.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Awards CORMAC Corporation the Database Support Contract
Columbia, MD, September 22, 2017 – CORMAC Corporation has been awarded FDA’s Database Support Contract. This contract will provide maintenance and enhancement support for FDA’s Incident/Informant, Tracktor, and Sampling and Testing databases. CORMAC has been supporting Incident/Informant and Tracktor as the prime contractor for the past 5 years and we look forward to continuing this support with the addition of the Sampling and Testing database for the next 3 years.
The Database Support contract includes development and maintenance of tools for capturing and reporting information related to drug manufacturing quality issues:
} Incident/Informant Database – Captures high priority drug quality issues which have a high potential risk to public health and also captures information received from informants reporting possible non-compliance.
} Tracktor Database – Tracks, records, and trends mandatory drug quality defect reporting from Field Alert Reports (FARs) and Biologic Product Deviation Reports (BPDRs). Tracktor also tracks the receipt of District Action Plans (DAPs).
} Sampling and Testing Database – These is a new tool designed to track drug sampling and testing results and provide analytics and analysis of the data.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Awards CORMAC Corporation the National Claims History (NCH) Suite of systems (COBOL programmers) Contract
Columbia, MD, July 13, 2017 – CORMAC Corporation is awarded the National Claims History (NCH) Suite of systems (COBOL programmers) Contract. This contract will provide maintenance, enhancements, and special projects support to CMS. CORMAC is the prime contractor supporting NCH for last five years and will continue to provide support for the next five years!
The NCH suite of systems includes NCH, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR), Common Working File Medicare Quality Assurance (CWFMQA), Standard Analytical Files (SAF), and other auxiliary applications. The various systems are critical to CMS core functions. For example, CWFMQA receives daily batches from Common Working File (CWF) of Medicare Part A and Part B claims data (Inpatient/SNF, Outpatient, Home Health, Hospice, Carrier, and DMERC). NCH is CMS’ data repository which houses all Medicare Parts A and B claims transactions data processed since 1991 through CWF. MEDPAR is a COBOL file that is a representation of beneficiaries’ final action claims for stays in inpatient hospitals and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).

General Services Administration Awards CORMAC with Health IT Special Item Number
Columbia, MD, April 10, 2017 – CORMAC Corporation was awarded a Health Information Technology (IT) Special Item Number (SIN) 132-56 under the General Services Administration (GSA) IT Schedule 70. The Health IT SIN was approved by GSA in July 2016 in an effort to identify companies with proven, qualified health IT experience.
According to the GSA, the Health IT Market value is $21.9 billion annually, and it is forecasted to grow 7.4%, which means this Health IT SIN will be an important factor to the growth and efficiency of the industry. The GSA also shared that over the last six years, healthcare has been the fastest growing segment in the federal marketplace, which means that there is a growing need for health IT services.

HHS/CMS MSIS-NMUD Contract award
CORMAC Corporation (CORMAC) has been awarded a prime contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for both the National Medicare Utilization Database (NMUD) and Medicaid Statistical Information System (MSIS) to provide maintenance, developmental enhancements, and special projects to support both the Medicare and Medicaid data repositories/applications.
“Our main objective is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the National Medicare Utilization Database (NMUD) and the Medicaid Statistical Information System (MSIS) operations and the timely implementation of statutory and regulatory requirements,” said CORMAC President Dominic Raj. We are thrilled with this award as it further expands CORMAC's breadth of data expertise in Medicare and Medicaid and underscores our continued commitment to CMS. As it stands now, CORMAC supports 95% of the Post-Medicare Claims workflow for CMS. It’s spread across two of our prime contracts, National Claims History (NCH) suite of systems and NMUD-MSIS.
The NMUD system houses all Medicare Parts A and B claims from 1998 through the present. The data is housed by claim type and calendar year based on the date of service. Each calendar year consists of approximately1.5 billion claim transactions. The primary Medicare (NMUD) input originates with the claims files from the National Claims History (NCH) data repository.
The primary Medicaid input is MSIS, which originates with the VALIDS flat files, which are created from data submitted directly by the States. The Medicaid Statistical Information System (MSIS) consists of thousands of flat files from States feeding one DB2 data repository. Data collection began October 1998 and continued through September 2015. Each fiscal year houses approximately 2.2 billion eligibility and claims transactions; approximately 1 terabyte of data per federal fiscal year. There are 5 types of MSIS files – Eligible (EL), Inpatient (IP), Long Term (LT), Pharmacy (RX), and Other (OT).
CORMAC is very pleased to be teamed with IBM for this effort. IBM brings unmatched NMUD and MSIS system and data knowledge to ensure the continued success of these key CMS systems. THE NMUD/MSIS contract was awarded for $10.7M, and is composed of a base year plus 4 Option Years.

Contract Award : CMS Performance Management System (PMS)
CORMAC is awarded the PMS contract by HHS/CMS to provide full range of statistical, analytical, and BI services to performance and risk assessment function under CMS CIO. PMS gathers performance and risk metrics on Medicare and Medicaid programs from internal and external sources and provides interactive dashboards (data visualization) to CMS leadership. The primary users of PMS are operational and policy staff within the agency, the Federal Government, and Congress.
HHS/CMS Awards CORMAC with SPARC IDIQ
CORMAC Corporation has received awards under the Strategic Partners Acquisition Readiness Contract (SPARC) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) in the Small Business, WOSB, and 8(a) tracks. SPARC is a ten year, $25 billion IDIQ contract awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that aims to support the strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to HHS and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to facilitate the modernization of business processes and supporting systems. These systems include the Federal Healthcare Exchange and Medicare/Medicaid information technology systems. CORMAC demonstrated significant relevant and innovative experience with CMS programs and missions and was selected through a rigorous evaluation process.
CMS has established the 10 Service Categories for information technology professional services under SPARC such as Requirements, Design and Development services.

Contract Award: CMS Medicare Quality Assurance (MQA) component to our National Claims History (NCH/COBOL)contract
CORMAC Corporation (CORMAC) has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Quality Assurance (MQA) component to our NCH project. MQA plays a critical role in the claims processing lifecycle at CMS. The MQA front-end receives daily batches from Common Working File (CWF) of Medicare Part A and Part B claims data (Inpatient/SNF, Outpatient, Home Health, Hospice, Carrier and DMERC). The MQA was implemented as a Quality Assurance system to stand between Host data and the national database repositories to cleanse the data and detect, assess, and report the presence of surface and relational edit errors missed by the Hosts.

Contract Award : CMS Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), Long Term Care Hospital (LTCH), and Hospice Quality Reporting Programs Analytics, Outreach, and Support Data Analysis
CORMAC Corporation (CORMAC) has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to become the prime contractor for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), Long Term Care Hospital and Hospice Quality Reporting Programs Analytics, Outreach, and Support under the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ).
“Our work will promote higher quality and more efficient health care for Medicare beneficiaries by supporting these critical quality reporting programs,” said CORMAC President Dominic Raj. “We look forward to supporting the administration of the Quality Improvement Organizations Program (QIO). As prime contractor, CORMAC will lead the outreach, education, communications, payment determination, reconsideration, help desk and business process support to accomplish program objectives.”
Teaming partners Telligen and Nguyen Information Consulting (NIC) will support CORMAC in this effort. The IRF contract was awarded for $4 million, and is composed of a base plus 2 option years, with the potential for support to continue through 2018.
Contract Award: CMS Oncology Care Model (OCM)
CORMAC has been awarded the CMS’ Oncology Care Model (OCM), an 8 year contract. OCM is a payment model designed to test the effect of better care coordination, improved access to practitioners, and appropriate clinical care on health outcomes and total cost of care for Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) beneficiaries with cancer. Model participants include physician group practices and solo practitioners, collectively referred to as “practices,” that administer chemotherapy for cancer. OCM encourages participating practices to improve care and lower costs through episode-based payments that financially incentive high-quality, coordinated care.
CORMAC partnered with CECity and Deloitte. CORMAC will support CMS to provide, customize, and maintain a data registry for the Oncology Care Model (OCM), which aims to improve health and lower costs for beneficiaries by promoting practice transformation and appropriate clinical care. The data registry will collect and consolidate data from multiple sources, calculate performance on quality measures, export raw and aggregate quality and clinical measure data, and allow for the easy exchange and sharing of OCM data to model participants and other entities.

Contract Award: CMS Marketplace System Integrator (MSI)
CORMAC as a Team member of Booz Allen Hamilton, has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to become the Marketplace System Integrator (MSI). The MSI program covers system integration, release management, and environment management activities, as well as facilitating communication and participating in the change control process for Marketplace environments. The Marketplace is the primary implementation of the ACA and is a complex “system of systems” built and supported by many contractors with interfaces to several other Federal Agencies and all 50 states. The Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) and State Based Marketplaces (SBM), known as the Health Insurance Marketplace systems, were established through the ACA in 2010 and began operations on October 1, 2013. These Marketplaces allow individuals and small business employers to shop for and compare competitive private health insurance options, known as Qualified Health Plans (QHP), on the basis of price, quality, and other factors.

Contract Award: CMS MBDSS & EDBSS
CORMAC, as a member of the Northrop Grumman Information System team, is awarded CMS’s Medicare Beneficiary Database Suite of Systems (MBDSS), the enterprise-wide, authoritative source for Medicare beneficiary data. CORMAC, as a member of the IMPAQ team, is awarded a contract to provide Implementation and Beneficiary Alignment Consulting Support for CMS’s new service delivery and payment model for Medicare beneficiaries with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Big Data Innovation Lab Opens
CORMAC opens its Big Data Innovation Lab as part of the Center of Excellence (COE) initiative. Investments in the Lab will support tools/product development, data management prototypes, Big Data and Analytics. The facility consists of a 6-node Hadoop cluster, analytics and BI software such as SAS, MicroStrategy, Tableau and Apache SOLR. Partners include such Big Data/analytics vendors as Cloudera, IBM, SAS and MicroStrategy.

Contract Award: CMS’s NCH, MEDPAR, CWFMQA, SAF Systems
CORMAC is awarded a five-year contract by HHS/CMS for O&M and enhancement of CMS National Claims History (NCH), Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR), Common Working File Medicare Quality Assurance (CWFMQA), Standard Analytical Files (SAF), and other auxiliary applications (COBOL). The various systems are critical to CMS core functions. For example, CWFMQA receives daily batches from Common Working File (CWF) of Medicare Part A and Part B claims data (Inpatient/SNF, Outpatient, Home Health, Hospice, Carrier and DMERC). NCH is CMS’ data repository housing all Medicare Parts A and B claims transactions data processed since 1991 through the CWF. MEDPAR is a COBOL file that is a representation of beneficiaries’ final action claims for stays in inpatient hospitals and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).

Contract Award: CMS Performance Management System
CORMAC is awarded a five-year contract by HHS/CMS to provide O&M and enhancements to the Performance Management System (PMS). PMS gathers performance metrics on Medicare and Medicaid programs from internal and external sources and provides interactive dashboards (data visualization) and performance metric reports to CMS leadership. The primary users of PMS are operational and policy staff within the agency, the Federal Government, and Congress. The scope of this effort involves performing enhancements using CMS ILC Development and O&M support to PMS. The work involves developing and maintaining dashboards using MicroStrategy and deploying the CMS BI portal.

Contract Award: CMS Integrated Data Repository
CORMAC is awarded the CMS Integrated Data Repository (IDR) task order under DM IDIQ. The IDR is the centerpiece of CMS’ Enterprise Data Warehouse Strategy. The IDR responds to the agency’s pressing need to have an integrated data environment that contains Medicare and Medicaid claims, and data regarding beneficiaries, providers and plans. Its vision is to provide greater information sharing, broader and easier access, enhanced data integration, increased security and privacy, and strengthened query and analytic capability via a single unified data repository.
